Chloe turned 10 and Andrea hosted a lovely celebration             

                                      for the birthday princess!

The other horses at the barn made sure to send their love. Atticus's gift was wrapped very nicely; I'm sure Chloe enjoyed opening it. The Birthday Girl enjoyed her dinner while Andrea and everyone  enjoyed pizza and cake just outside her stall.

April 15th: AC and Simon went to Tryon, NC to trail ride on FETA trails and have a wine tasting luncheon at Green Creek Winery.

Ready to taste several of Green Creek's wines.

Simon says,

"Either I get to be grand marshall or

we find something to jump!"

April 3rd:  Several members of the First Call Family went to The Fork Horse Trials for Intermediate, Advanced and CIC3 cross country! The horses and horsemanship were astounding, The Fork is an amazing place and the weather was gorgeous!

February 7th: AC attended St. Andrew Presbyterian College's  IHSA Show  and coached the Duke University team in the absence of their regular coach, Ginny Rollins.

AC: "Congratulations Duke University for your stellar performance today at St. Andrew's IHSA Show. Thank you for welcoming me and being such an incredibly FUN team. I was happy to help out."

One cool Sunday afternoon in June we accepted an invitation to visit beautiful Zemosa Acres.  Zemosa is the home of Allison Niblock, an adult rider who often calls on AC Jones for advice or help with a young horse.  We are entirely grateful to Allison for this opportunity to enjoy a leisurely ride with our horses in open air and open spaces of Zemosa Acres. 

Horses, and riders: young and.... older, experienced the great outdoors.  We all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon!

Oh, my Gosh!  What a day January 27th was!

A beautiful warm & sunny winter day and we delegated it as 'cross country schooling day' at Why Not An American Ark. "The Ark" in Monroe, hosts NCHJA-rated Hunter/Jumper shows and USEF-rated Three Day Events.  In the off season, Amy and Jeff Wylie open their wonderful facility to the public for it's specific uses and we spent an entire afternoon taking full advantage of its wide open spaces and challenging jumping efforts.  April, Melissa, AC, Noah, Simon and Freedom navigated ditches, banks, drops, tiger traps, coffins, shed rows, panels, coops, log piles and 'whiskey barrels'.   Freedom 'hopped up' (literally) a 3-foot bank from a standstill, just to see what Simon was doing standing on the top!  It was such a rush to see how much fun the horses were having.  (Not to mention the fun we had).  April is already concieving a plan of trying her hand at least  at one Novice Level 3-Day Event (between horse shows) sometime this spring!
